So I have been a loyal Nextel customer for the past 8 years. I thought it was so cool when I first got my Nextel. It was great to be able to push a button and instantly talk to someone miles away. A lot of things happen in 8 years. You would think with the way technology advances so rapidly that cell phone coverage would be like ignorant democrat voters. They’re everywhere and there are way too many. As a matter of fact I sit at my desk daily which is in the heart of RTP and read No Service on my phone. Everyone else that has a cell phone has service all over the building no matter which provider it is. I can ride down the middle of I-40 or I-440 and completely lose service for miles. Is this what I pay for each month? Can’t get a signal in downtown Raleigh? When my contract expires at the end of year, so will my business with Nextel.

I don’t know how many of you have seen these stickers on vehicles each day traveling down I-40. I have seen my share. It is beginning to be like those stupid oval stickers like OBX or TI or WLK. I mean the last time I checked this is North Carolina. I believe that is the symbol for South Carolina. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t really get it. If you miss South Carolina that much do me a favor and take your (insert any top of the line SUV) and go back. I promise no one will miss you or your dumb sticker.

If anyone has been around me recently you know the trouble I’ve had with the Mustang. For those of you that haven’t let me tell you the story. One morning several months ago I was on the way to work and noticed I needed to get some gas. I pull off at McGee’s there at the Shell station. Everything is pretty routine. I pump the gas, actually get my receipt and get back in the car. I then turn the key and she won’t start. I didn’t know what to think. So I call Daddy(pronounced Deady) and wake him up to tell him my car won’t start. He get’s up out of bed and gets his clothes on to come get me. I know for sure I’m stranded and will be late to work. About 10 minutes later I try it again and the thing fires right up. Now I really don’t know what think. I have to call Daddy(pronounced Deady) back and tell him that after I woke him up and made him get ready that I don’t need him anymore. Needless to say he goes back to bed and I go to work thinking this is a fluke and everything is ok. Boy was I wrong. Read the rest of this entry »

In stark contrast to my last entry about good food in Four Oaks, this is about squat in Benson. I mean can we get a good eating establishment in the Benson city limits? One that will remain open? So last week Frank’s closes and so does the Sandwich Shop. Frank’s was really good until the last few months it was open. Who would have ever thought the Sandwich Shop would have closed? Now all we have is McDonald’s, Pizza Hit, Andy’s and Pat’s!! LOL Pat’s might be the best thing in Benson now…I don’ know. I mean for crying out loud, Princeton of all places at least has a Bojangles. The intersection of TWO major interstates plays host to nothing. I may as well set me up a tent off exit 79 with some Beans and Franks. And to top it all off the one new thing that is opening soon in Benson is Fat Ratz Sports Bar.
