Tonight HCR played at the Johnston County Relay for Life. The weather was a big factor, but for the most part it stayed pretty nice for June. We had one really bad downpour, but no severe storms. We had the privilege of playing with along side The Wells Family who are pretty dang good to say the least. I think we ended up playing about an hour and a half. I had a good time believe it or not. Max had the toughest job of night trying to satisfy about 20 different singers and musicians. He did a fine job though. I just wanted to get something up about it while it was fresh on my mind. I’m working on getting some photos from the event to add later.

Well, I finally broke down and bought an high quality instrument. I have been playing close to eight years now and I figured that I’ll probably stick with it. I think this is the fifth guitar that I’ve owned and the first one I paid for myself. It’s an acoustic/electric Martin. I ended up spending a Saturday afternoon at the guitar center playing everything I could get my hands on. When I finally left, I had all but decided this was the one I wanted. I got it last week and I’ve played it everyday so far. We’re about to hit the trail this summer and I wanted something to nice to play. Hopefully, it will be the first and last one I buy.

These are two things that I tickle. It’s been HCR and bball up to my eyeballs the last few months. But I don’t have anything else to do so it keeps me occupied and busy. Our CD is available for anyone that wants one. I think they look excellent thanks to Jayme and sound excellent thanks to our musicians and singers. We ended up selling all of our first shipment one Sunday morning when we played at church. We ordered 200 more and just about half of those are already gone. We’ve also been getting some airplay on WPYB 1130 AM in Benson and WMPM 1270 AM in Smithfield. It’s pretty cool hearing yourself on the radio :)

Of course what would the winter be if we didn’t have church league basketball. It seems nice to get back out there and play after watching the championship game from the sidelines a year ago. I think we have an 8-1 record so far this season. We only have a few games left. Come on out and cheer us on. Only other thing happening is Jennifer and Woody’s wedding next weekend. Crystal and I are singing It’s Your Love and Bless the Broken Road. They are pretty challenging, but I think we’ll do a good job. I almost forgot the ski trip to Snowshoe, but that is a month away. Anyway, that’s it for now.

I’ve been spending all my time recently working on our CD. Everytime we play somewhere we’ve been asked if we have any CD’s for sale. Of course we haven’t been playing all that long so we don’t have a CD. We are hoping to have it done in the next month or so. It’s going to be entitled ‘Time for Revival.’ In between church stuff, CD and now trying to have stuff ready for Christmas it’s been a little stressful. Hopefully after the holidays we will get back to traveling around and playing more. If anyone would like one of our CD’s leave a comment here or send me an email.

It has been a while since I update my blog. Dad is doing great now after the heart surgery. He seems better than ever and we’re all thankful for that. Jennifer is getting married in February out in Hawaii. Chris got on full time at Wake Radiology after having a nice year of part time work. I have had a few very successful trades in the last month. I’m building up my account and looking forward to having a new away message in the next couple of years. There was a time when I wondered if I could be successful at it. I’m confident that I can. I know I’m not going to make it at Sears. Anyway…someone leave some comments other than the usual ones. Go check out www.hannahscreekrevival.com or click the link on the left.

With the election over now I haven’t been as riled up about politics. It’s nice to know we got our man in the White House for 4 more years. I haven’t posted any new topics recently because I’ve focusing my effort on our band at church and our Christmas Celebration we had this past weekend. A host of individuals sang and participated at our first ever event and it was a great success. A lot of hard work and preparation went into it and I hope that each person there received something special from it. I will try to post some of the audio on here for your listening pleasure.
